The Tampa Chapter of the AM&AA Deal of the Year Awards celebrates Tampa Bay’s thriving middle-market business community, and honors locals who drive middle-market growth. Nominated deals and deal teams will be evaluated based on their contribution to job growth, positive economic impact, capital formation, and the advancement of meaningful business relationships in the greater Tampa Bay Area. We will recognize the entire team: seller, buyer, investment bank, law firm, tax advisory firm, and any other members who contributed to the deal’s success.

Judges for the Tampa Chapter AM&AA Deal of the Year Awards were selected based on their success in business, contributions to our ecosystem, involvement in the Greater Tampa Bay community, and extensive industry experience.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Deals must have closed between June 30, 2021 and September 30, 2022
  • The buyer and/or seller must be headquartered in the Greater Tampa Bay Area.

Nomination Process

  • There is no fee to submit a nomination.
  • Nominations must be submitted through our electronic form only.
  • All information requested on the electronic form must be included or nomination will be disqualified.
  • The Deal of the Year Award will be presented to the business and will provide recognition to those on the deal team, the seller, investment bank, law firm and other advisors associated with the deal.
  • There is no limit to the number of nominations an individual or firm can submit.
  • We do not accept anonymous nominations or confidential information on the nomination form.

Important Dates

  • September 30: Final day to accept
  • October 7: Finalists selected
  • October 10-28: Judging and interviews of finalists
  • October 31: Finalists announced at tampabaydoty.com
  • January 10: Red Carpet VIP Reception for finalists and VIP guests prior to the Deal of the Year Awards Event
  • January 10: Winner Announced at the 2nd Annual Tampa Chapter AM&AA Deal of the Year Awards Event

The winner of the second Annual Deal of the Year will be recognized in The Tampa Bay Business and Wealth magazine, the Tampa Bay Chapter AM&AA website. Photography of the winner announcement will be provided by RickVisuals photography.

Is there a fee to nominate, participate or win?

No.

Are materials submitted on deals confidential?

No, please do not submit any information that needs to remain confidential.

Is there a specified time frame for deals eligible for nomination?

Deals completed between June 30, 2021, and September 30, 2022, are eligible.

How are the winners selected?

The judges panel as named, will review all of the nominations, and score them based on their contribution to job growth, positive economic impact, capital formation, local advisory firms used, and the advancement of meaningful business relationships in the greater Tampa Bay Area to determine the winner. It is important to note that while the success and complexity of the deal are considered the true merits of the deal, the impact on the local Greater Tampa Bay economy will play a large role in the equation.

Is there a word limit for entry submissions?

Yes, each section of the application lists the related word limits. Generally, you can expect most fields will accept 200 words depending on the criteria question.

What counties are included in the Greater Tampa Bay Area?

For purposes of this award, The Greater Tampa Bay Area consists of Hardee, Hernando, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, and Sarasota counties.

To aid in determining the winner, we are asking several questions on the nomination form. Please provide your answers directly in the nomination form itself. We will publish excerpts from the answers, so please make certain the information provided is publication-ready.
